How much does it cost to install a smoke detector?

Smoke alarm installation through our program called Project Get Alarmed is a completely free service to our neighbors. 

How long does the whole process generally take to install a smoke detector?

Once a Project Get Alarmed Request Form is filled out and received by Gainesville Fire Rescue, the Fire and Life Safety Educator will make contact with the homeowner within 30 days. As long as we have smoke alarms in stock, the installation will usually occur within one week of receiving the request form. 

How do I qualify for this program?

The only current requirements for Project Get Alarm are to own the home as a primary residence and the home be located within the city limits. However, if we receive a request from for a residence outside of the city limits, that request form will be transferred to the homes primary responding fire department for installation.
